• I spent the last year studying for the PGCE (Teacher Training) at the University of East London. So I just thought I would give a quick low down for anyone considering UEL or studying in that there London.
The University itself is of a decent enough standard (ranked 106 in the Guardian table) and the PGCE team were really lovely. If you are looking for a good way to study and see London, then I would definitely recommend the Uni, given it's good transport links into Central London (the University is on the Tower Gateway - Beckton DLR line), with an easy change for the Jubilee Line at Canning Town).

One thing I would say though, is if you plan to live in halls, then the surrounding area of the Docklands campus (where halls/dorms are situated) with the Library, shop and few cafes and of course the Student bar (during term time only) can feel pretty isolated at times and if you move off campus, there are just a few local shops, a nice pub (The Reach).

Undeniably, one of the best things about living in halls has to be the stunning view. You can see the London City Airport (yes, the sound of the aeroplanes is annoyingly loud!), The O2, then even the distant view of The Shard, etc

So, please excuse the mess! As I pack up my stuff to leave...my life is in CHAOS lol!!!

Good luck to everyone starting University this year!
Work hard, but have a fab time :)

    Lots of love,
