• Well it wouldn't be Christmas without some nice little sweetie biscuits would it :) We made these with the children the other day and they are quick, easy and totally yummy so win win! 


    All you need to make around 20 biscuits:

    175g (6oz) butter
    100g (4oz) caster sugar 
    225g (8oz) plain flour 
    Enough boiled sweets for each biscuit (we used Foxes Glacier Fruits) 

    You will need a large and small star cutters. 

    Method:

    1. Preheat the oven to 160°C/fan 140°C/gas 3 and grease 2 large baking trays.  
    2. Measure the butter and sugar into a bowl and beat until smooth. Add the flour and bring the dough together by hand.
    3. Roll out the dough until it is about ¼ inch thick. Use your large cutter to cut out the large star shape, then use the smaller cutter to cut the middle out of each shape. Arrange the star cut outs onto a baking tray and then into each of the small cut out shapes place a boiled sweet. 
    5.Bake in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes or until the biscuits are a pale gold and the sweets inside them have  melted.

    Once the biscuits have cooled they are perfect with a lovely cup of mulled wine :)
