• I have just completed my online enrolment for University next month - exciting! So, I thought I better get cracking on with my 'To do list'. I just thought I would just share a quick list of all the basics to you might want to consider buying/sourcing to take to halls with you if you're starting University this year.

Going away to College/University and leaving home for the first time can be quite daunting thinking of all the things you will need to take with you. The best piece of advice I would give before you start making your list, is to find out what basics are provided by contacting the University's Accommodation Office. This could save you money and also precious space in the car!

This is based on my 'essentials' list, so just adjust according to what you might need.

    Dorm room basics:

Bedding - is it a single or double bed?
A duvet, pillows, a throw for colder months
    Desk lamp
Study essentials: laptop, printer, printer paper, ink
General stationery: paper, lever arch files, academic diary, hole punch, stapler, USB memory stick, calculator, post-it notes, page markers, pens, highlighters, pencil, ruler and a good pencil case to keep it all together and a bag to take to Uni.

Is anyone else going away to University next month?

    Have I forgotten anything essential?
